Quality & plant health
Our crops are inspected and tested regularly by the Plant Protection Service of the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Agriculture, working with the Institute of Fruit Science at the University of Bonn. Our propagation meets the requirements for certification under AGOZ (the German regulation on propagating material of vegetables, fruit and ornamental plants), and our fruit rootstocks are certified under the EPPO scheme. Every delivery comes with a plant passport. All our growing land is free from potato cyst nematodes.
Three generations of rootstocks from the Münsterland
Our nursery has been based in Hiddingsel, part of the town of Dülmen in the Münsterland, since 1958. It was founded by Hermann Lodder, grandfather of our managing director Steffen Lodder, who carries on the horticultural and farming tradition of both sides of his family.

Our specialism
Soon after it was founded, the nursery began to concentrate on a comprehensive range of rootstocks – for ornamental nurseries and fruit tree nurseries alike, each of which has its own requirements. Today we are a specialist producer of rootstocks for fruit trees, roses and ornamental trees.
On around 45 ha of nursery land we grow the full range of rootstocks our customers ask for today. We propagate from seed, hardwood cuttings, in vitro and from stoolbeds; most varieties are available as one-year-old and two-year-old plants.

Organic rootstocks from our own production
Organically grown fruit rootstocks are an established part of our range. They are produced by Organic Rootstocks GmbH – our sister company, set up solely for this purpose.
So that our customers deal with one company only, the organic rootstocks are sold exclusively through LODDER-UNTERLAGEN GmbH. You can order organic and conventional rootstocks together – one supplier, one site.
Our organic production is certified to EU organic standards. Organic control body code: DE-ÖKO-013.
